Magnetic Particle inspection (MPI)
Inspection of Magnetic Particles: The component is magnetized. The specimen is then treated with finely ground iron particles coated in a dye pigment. Due to their attraction to magnetic flux leakage fields, these particles will group together and create an indication right over the discontinuity.
It may be used at visible or fluorescent condition.
